Now playing Brigandine WAD at spare times

Made by Alun Bestor.

Wonderful map with lot of details, great architecture with big relief (not a flat map), shadows and sun effect, well placed monsters, sweet spots for great points of view, and using only stock textures apparently.
All of this without the use of any modern DOOM engines features like slopes, overlapping sectors, transparency, etc... This is all pure DOOM as its best.
This kind of map manages to remove the limit of original DOOM concerning 3D (no overlapping sectors, false 3D).
One thing I like in playing DOOM is the "ease of gaming": since the maps are actually 2D, first they can be viewed (instead of Doom3 or Quake or etc), second they are easy to navigate.

Apart from the number of items (sectors, etc) wich would have crashed or slowed down original DOOM engine on old 90's computers (386, 486, etc), this map could be played with pure DOOM (perhaps this map can be played with original DOOM engine on modern computer and run well), and it's trippy to see that beautiful things can still be made and even invented with old technologic bases.
