Some words on my first Trance Remixes

First, it was because of the infamous trance remix of Atom Heart Mother (and later Animals, and Wish You Were Here) that I dived into trance remixing. Making a remix out of a released mastered song (without multi-tracks) had always been exciting in my mind.

Then, I decided to trance-remixing A Momentary Lapse Of Reason for two reasons:
  • I extracted samples from Dogs Of War and play with them, and quickly made a remix, I was happily surprised by the result. I thought to myself: "Wow, I just need to sample some voices, synth, add drums, bass and let's go !"
  • A Momentary Lapse of Reason is not a critically aclaimed album of Pink Floyd, and I agree that it is not the best, but it has some good moments. And the trance remixes of AMLOR are very rare, impossible to listen to on YouTube (I haven't even be able to listen to the Limited Edition CD).
At this time, I "invented" the fragment trance remix: for some songs, like Dogs of War, it was possible to extract voices or synth and play them easily, but for One Slip, it was much harder (execept playing with the strange intro), so I tried to extract very small samples (less than 1s) and so play fragments of the song, barely recognizable. The essence of the song is here, but it's hard to recognize it.
